§ 12.12.010. Planting—Permit required when.

  • A.

    It is unlawful to plant any tree or bush in any public street or parkway or other public place without having first secured a permit therefor. Applications for such permits shall be made to the city clerk and shall be referred by him to the city council. All trees and shrubs so planted shall be placed subject to the directions and approval of the city council.

    B.

    It is unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation to plant or cause to be planted in any parkway within the city any tree or shrub less than three feet from the outer line of the sidewalk. No tree shall be planted in parkways or streets at a distance less than eight feet from any crosswalk or intersecting street or alley, and no shrub shall be planted in any parkways or any streets at a distance less than twenty-five feet from any crosswalk or intersecting street or alley.
