§ 12.18.010. Permit required.

  • A.

    No person, firm, corporation or entity shall perform construction or repair activities requiring a cut into a city street, curb or public sidewalk without first having obtained a permit.

    B.

    The application for a street and/or curb cut shall be made by submitting the permit form set forth in Appendix A of this chapter to the building and zoning administrator or his or her designee.

    C.

    Any permit issued pursuant to this chapter shall expire sixty days after the date of issuance. If work is not complete, the applicant must obtain a new permit.

    D.

    Unless specifically authorized by action of the city council, no person shall be authorized to cut into a city street that has been paved within the preceding five years, so long as the owner of the lots adjoining such street have been given notice and an opportunity to install water, gas or sewer services prior to the installation of the pavement.
