§ 8.40.050. Abatement—Failure.

  • If the person so served does not abate the nuisance within ten days, the chief of police may proceed to abate such nuisance, keeping an account of the expense of the abatement, and such expense shall be charged and paid by such owner or occupant. Such expenses may include additional reasonable mowing costs made after the initial mowing to preclude the grass and/or weeds from approaching eight inches tall. Any costs incurred by the city in filing a lien pursuant to this section, including recording fees and attorneys fees, shall be borne by the property owner.
