Any permanent swimming pool shall be hard wired underground pursuant to the National Electrical Code and connected to an approved GFCI breaker of adequate size. Portable pool pumps may be powered by an appropriate extension and/or drop cord only if connected or plugged into a GFCI protected outlet.
