§ 10.32.020. Curb parking.

  • A.

    No vehicle shall be parked with the left side of such vehicle at the curb, and it is unlawful to stand or park any vehicle in a street other than parallel with the curb and with the two right wheels within twelve inches of the regularly established curb line, except angled parking shall be permitted so that the right side of the vehicle forms an angle forty-five degrees with the curb and between lines marked on the curb and street for such parking in the following areas:

    1.

    Both sides of Second Street between Union Street and Walnut Street;

    2.

    The south side of Second Street between Walnut Street and Washington Street;

    3.

    The south side of Second Street between Union Street and Chestnut Street;

    4.

    Both sides of Chestnut Street between Blackhawk Drive and the alley located north of Blackhawk Drive;

    5.

    The east side of Walnut Street between Blackhawk Drive and Merchant Street.

    6.

    Both sides of Washington Street between Blackhawk Drive and Second Street;

    7.

    The east side of Franklin Street between Blackhawk Drive and Second Street;

    8.

    The east side of Walnut Street between Blackhawk Drive and Second Street;

    9.

    The west side of Walnut Street between Second Street and Third Street.

    Angled parking is not permitted for any vehicle which has an overall length in excess of fourteen feet, except for purposes of unloading and loading.

    B.

    All vehicles shall be prohibited from parking on Blackhawk Drive (Illinois Route 2) at any point within the city limits of Byron.

    C.

    Parking on both sides of Union Street between Second Street and Blackhawk Drive shall be restricted to parallel parking only, diagonal parking being expressly prohibited. Such parallel parking shall be so executed that the wheels of the vehicle nearest the curb shall not be farther than twelve inches from the curb.

    D.

    Motor vehicles shall not be permitted to park on either side of Main Street or Blackhawk Drive (Illinois Route 2) between the east corporate limits and Peru Street within the corporate limits of the city.

    E.

    It is unlawful for any vehicle to be parked on the east side of Colfax Street from the north side of Third Street north on Colfax Street to the city limits. It is unlawful for any vehicle to be parked on the west side of Colfax Street where marked by no parking signs.

    F.

    The easternmost two parking stalls located on the north side of the 100 block of West Second Street shall be designated as car only parking. The parking of trucks, vans or sport utility vehicles in such stalls is prohibited. Signs indicating that no trucks or vans shall park in such stalls shall be erected to notify all drivers of motor vehicles of the car only designation.

    G.

    There shall be no parking along either side of Fourth Street between Walnut and Washington Streets, except that parking shall be allowed along the westernmost seventy feet of the north side, subject to other general parking restrictions.

    H.

    All vehicles shall be prohibited from parking on the north side of Second Street between Colfax Street and Maple Avenue.
